J.G. Parks & Son is one of only two Certified Diesel Emissions Retesters in the state of Maryland.
The Diesel Vehicle Emissions Control Program is a roadside smoke emissions inspection program designed to reduce particulate emissions (black smoke) from heavy-duty diesel vehicles. Certified Diesel Emissions Retesters (CDER) are critical elements of the Program. CDERs are responsible for performing an emissions test that ensures vehicles have been brought into compliance with the applicable emission standards. Once a vehicle has undergone a retest and meets the emission standard, CDERs are the only persons (other than State emissions inspectors employed by the Maryland State Police) authorized to certify safety equipment repair orders issued for smoke violations. Participation as a CDER is a voluntary demonstration of commitment to quality emissions repairs. By ensuring that vehicles meet the appropriate emission standards, CDERs help reduce air pollution and provide an important consumer service.
J.G. Parks & Son utilizes Smoke Check 1667 Diesel Emission Tester for comprehensive testing.
